Foods For Longer Thicker Hair

You try to eat right, yet your hair is still lifeless, dull, and thin! It's not a problem of how much we consume but rather of what types of foods we should be consuming to get luxurious hair. Here's a list of what makes hair look it's best.

*Protein
Considering that hair is mostly protein, we need amble amounts of protein in our diets. The recommended amount is 37 to 50 grams per day but most women get less then that in their diet which in turn results in thin hair. Food that are rich in protein include soy, nuts, low-fat dairy, legumes, lean meats, fish and eggs. The best of the best are walnuts, salmon and flax seeds!

*Antioxidants
Not only do they keep your hair strong and healthy, but they reverse aging processes and make you look younger too! Fruits and vegetables have the best antioxidants. It is recommended to eat different types of fruit and vegetables everyday in order to get nutrients in all forms. It also keeps you from getting bored from eating the same thing every single day. You can eat tomatoes, apricots, strawberries, cantaloupe, cherries, oranges, pomegranates, blackberries, blueberries, mangoes, peaches, carrots, watermelon, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, peppers, pumpkin,  grapes, plums, prunes, kiwi, asparagus, spinach, broccoli, raisins, etc. There is no reason not to have any of these everyday. The variety is sure to please everyone's taste buds.

*Fats
Good fats (monounsaturated, polyunsaturated and Omega-3 fatty acids) are great for having that shine in your hair. Foods that are rich in good fats include seeds, nuts, salmon, tuna, avocados, flax seeds, and walnuts.

Avoid eating too many fatty foods and junk that removes all the good nutrients from your body. Good luck!
